At Daily Kindness our mission statement includes “Live Well.” We want to be a bright spot in what can sometimes be a bleak day rife with news of violence and sadness. To this end we scour the globe (digitally) looking for stories that inspire in hopes that you take them to your friends and family. But we also know that laughter is important, that funny stories bring a smile as quick as anything. So, we’ll change pace today from heartwrenching tales of Olympic runners or dying teachers to share a laugh.

An Illinois man left the snow-filled streets of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick email to let her know of his safe arrival.
Unfortunately, when typing her address, he missed one letter, and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher’s wife whose husband had passed away only the day before. When the grieving widow checked her email, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint.
At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen:
Dearest Wife,
Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
Love,
Your Husband
P.S. Sure is hot down here.

When I first saw the headline “Dog Saves Another Dog on Freeway,” I assumed it must be some sort of play on words. It’s not.
This is one of the most amazing videos you will ever see. A dog is hit by a car and lies motionless on a busy freeway. From nowhere another dog appears and drags the injured dog to safety. I’ve never seen anything like it.
